Students were mad as hatters for an Alice in Wonderland event in Barking Learning Centre and Barking Town Square.
Pupils from Robert Clack, Jo Richardson and Dagenham Park secondary schools put on a dance display of the popular children’s book last Thursday.
Sarah Horner, who helped organise the Robert Clack students’ performance told the Post: “The story is broken down into nine sections, and each of the schools performed three. We had a variety of ages in our performances as we had students from Years 8, 10 and 12.
“We created Alice in Wonderland after gaining a micro-grant from the Big Dance Festival. We wanted to do something new and unusual, taking particular themes from the story and making them into a dance.
“The students really enjoyed taking part, and the older students were able to choreograph their own parts of the performance to go towards their BTEC in dance.”
