A GIANT ear is on its way to Barking and Dagenham College on Monday to remind young people of its biggest threat, the ‘MP3 timebomb’

The Bionic Ear Show, which is run by Deafness Research UK, a charity supporting the hearing-impaired, will teach people in a fun way why popular listening habits could be putting their hearing in danger.

Vivienne Michael, the charity’s chief executive, says: “One of the key messages the Bionic Ear Show is taking to adults in Essex is not to stop them using MP3 players, or going to hear live music, but to listen to their favourite sounds safely.

“Turning down the volume or investing in earplugs are such simple things to do and might just make the difference when it comes to enjoying a lifetime of sound and music.”
