Green-fingered students welcomed the addition of new plant life into their school when they swapped their pens for gardening tools.
The planting session at The Warren School, Whalebone Lane North, was prompted by the London Wildlife Trust’s Trees for Hosts project, which is promising to fulfil the Olympic Games’ green legacy with the addition of thousands of trees.
Students on the school’s Sixth Form Sport and Active Leisure programme last Tuesday planted about 80 trees on the edge of their school field.
