Karate girl Rosie Dunn is celebrating after winning a bronze medal at a national tournament.
The Jo Richardson pupil come third in an under 50kg category at the Karate England National Open Championships.
Rosie, 14, said: “I won my first fight and got through to my second fight where I got punched in the mouth and split my upper lip. This didn’t stop me and I was happy with my bronze medal.”
Her school in Gale Street, Dagenham, praised the brown belt, saying she was hardworking, self-disciplined and an “outstanding student”.
The England championships took place in Loughborough, Leicestershire, on September 30.
