Grafton Primary School has received an award for their rights-respecting ethos and values.
They have been given the Unicef UK Rights Respecting Schools Award Level 1, which uses the UN convention on the rights of the child as the basis for granting the award.
It is granted to schools that are committed to promoting the rights of children and adults, as well as encouraging young people to respect the rights of others in school.
The school in Grafton Road, Dagenham, was visited by a Unicef inspector earlier this year and last week held a rights respecting day to mark their success.
Headeacher Martin Nicholson said: “The achievement of the award reflects the way the children and adults conduct themselves in our school at all times. We would like to say a big thank you to all the amazing children in our school.”
