Singing, dancing and food tasting helped secondary school students celebrate languages from around the world.
Year eight pupils from All Saints Catholic School in Dagenham took part in a variety of workshops ranging from Hindi to etymology, Romanian and Greek.
The sessions took place on the European Day of Languages on Monday but staff at the Terling Road school decided to widen out the remit.
Teacher Susan Edwards said: “The day gave pupils a taste of different languages as well as broadening their cultural knowledge.”
