Students from The Sydney Russell School in Dagenham have been in the dock - taking part in two mock trial competitions.
The Year 10 and 12 pupils travelled to Cardiff last week to compete in the national finals of the Bar Mock Trial competition after winning their regional heat before Christmas.
Pupils adopted the roles of barristers and witnesses and presented their cases
Teacher Rachel Burd said: “I am exceptionally proud of the students. The competition is one which is highly regarded by law professionals so it is a fantastic achievement to reach the national finals.
“The team conducted themselves excellently and held their own against schools from across the country.”
A Year 8 and 9 cohort also took part in the Magistrate’s Court Mock Trial on the same day and will now be competing in the regional heats in May.
