School children found out just what life is like at the Post when they visited the paper’s headquarters on Friday.
Accompanied by two teachers, the quartet from Grafton Primary, Dagenham, were invited by editor Michael Adkins to find out more about writing a front page, tying in with their project on the Great Fire of London.
After a quick tour of the office, the children were shown how to plan and design a newspaper, before given a crash-course in shorthand – the hieroglyphic-like written language of reporters.
They also found out more about the role of newspapers and what makes a good reporter.
