German scholars showed off their intellectual prowess during a twinning visit that celebrated the links between Barking and Dagenham and the university town of Witten.
The academics, from the town in the west of Germany, helped to solve maths problems with year 7 students at Dagenham Park secondary school in School Road on May 21.
The visit was part of a five-day jaunt organised by the Barking and Dagenham Witten club last month.
The German visitors also went to Valence House history museum in Becontree Avenue, Dagenham, which has records of the twinning between the two areas.
Witten teenagers will aim to set up a youth group when they visit Barking and Dagenham in October.
