Pupils and staff celebrated the mix of languages and cultures within their school with two special international days.
Dressing up in the national colours or clothes from countries in every corner of the globe, pupils at Valence Primary School’s St George’s site, in St George’s Road, Dagenham, enjoyed two days of dancing, poems, food and crafts.
With nearly 60 different languages spoken by pupils from across the school, it provided an opportunity for pupils to learn more about each other’s backgrounds.
Teacher Liam Hartley said: “It’s great that the children have a chance to learn more about one another’s cultures and backgrounds and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves – particularly with the different foods.”
