Barking’s MP was quizzed by curious children about David Cameron when she paid a visit to the borough’s newest primary school.

Margaret Hodge visited George Carey Primary School, Minton Road, Barking, last Friday where children from the school council asked her about the prime minister and her job during a lively question and answer session. Mrs Hodge was then given a tour of the class rooms and was informed about the school’s progress.

Tracy Sexton, PA to headteacher Christopher Harrison said: “The children enjoyed it – they found it interesting. It’s been great to be part of something that has started off from new.”

George Carey Primary School has 230 nursery and primary school places. The brand new Church of England school at the Rivergate Centre was opened on September 13 last year.
