A FESTIVAL celebrating the traditions and culinary delights of distant countries made for a school week out of the ordinary.
Children at Northbury Junior School, North Street, Barking, tucked into exotic food and wore colourful costumes for this year’s International Week at the school.
For five days, budding globetrotters explored the diversity of other nations and learned their customs.
The impressive results of the workshops, ranging from handmade pom poms to sushi, were then proudly put on display.
Northbury has received the International School Award for its involvement in projects and links in other countries all over the world including Kenya, Spain and France. Eugene Samuel, deputy head teacher of the school, said of the week: “It was fantastic. The children were very enthusiastic and had a brilliant time.”
