Pupils at a Barking infant school clutch the cards they will post to their mums for this Mothering Sunday.

The children – aged four and five – from Manor Infants School in Sandringham Road demonstrated their creative skills by designing their own cards and writing poems in tribute to their mothers.

On Friday, the reception class will walk to a post office to buy stamps and post their creations.

The school’s office administrator, Karen Kelly, said: “By visiting the post office the pupils can learn about the local environment as well as the role of the post office in the community.

“And by posting the Mother’s Day cards they can learn how to post a letter.”
