Hundreds of primary pupils perfected their pirouettes as The Royal Ballet School inspired the ballerinas of the future.
Almost 400 year three pupils from schools across the borough watched a performance by the prestigious troupe at Dagenham Park Church of England School in School Road – before trying out some moves themselves.
The gathering, held earlier this month, marked the 11th year of The Royal Ballet School’s Primary Steps scheme, which offers six-week courses that aim to boost future Billy Elliots.
Offering more than 2,000 British pupils the chance to better their battement, the course can lead to four years of training at the school.
The scheme is open to pupils from Beam County, Godwin, John Perry, Marsh Green primary schools and William Ford Junior School.
