Former Barking and Dagenham College (BDC) student and R&B singer Shaun Escoffery is supporting a national campaign urging the government to stop funding cuts to further education.
Shaun, who studied arts in the 90s, has recorded a video for ‘Love Our Colleges’ which is fighting funding cuts of 30per cent in the last 10 years.
According to BDC 65p of 16-18 year old go to college but they get 25pc less spent on them than school students.
In a video recorded by Shaun, he says: “Going to college is a wonderful thing...going to Barking College really expanded my horizons.”
As part of the campaign there will be a national lobby of Parliament on Wednesday and a rally attended by hundreds of college chiefs including Yvonne Kelly who is the principal and CEO of Barking and Dagenham College.
