A college student has been celebrated for his shot put performance in the EDF Energy Indoor Athletics Challenge.

The contest at the Lee Valley Indoor Athletics Centre in March saw students from six colleges from the Olympic boroughs compete in events such as the long jump, 60m sprint, shot put, 800m and 4 x 100m relay.

Barking and Dagenham College student Muktar Teddy Nur won silver in the shot put.

Donna Fraser and Ezra Anajonu from EDF Energy visited the college last week to present Muktar, the college’s student union vice- president, with a certificate.
