HUNDREDS of pupils headed to Dagenham’s Mayesbrook Park to take part in a fun-filled sports festival.
The youngsters from Barking Abbey and Sydney Russell School enjoyed a host of different activities, including, beach volley ball, canoeing, football, karate and BMX riding,
The event last Thursday, called SportInspired, saw 32 teams compete against each other in a total of 127 matches and games. Medals were awarded to all the participants, with the winning team from each school picking up a trophy.
SportsInspired was organised by the two schools, the council and local sports clubs to encourage more young people to take part in sport.
