Students across Barking and Dagenham will collect their GCSE results this morning.
Nationally, early reports suggest 2011 is another record-breaking year with more pupils achieving the top grades.
Overall almost 70 per cent will receive grades A*-C, 23 per cent an A* or A, and close to eight per cent an A*.
The proportion of success among boys and girls is closing, it has also been reported.
