Wikipedia chief Jimmy Wales gave students a chance to quiz him on running the world’s largest collaborative website at Barking and Dagenham College.

Ardian Toski, 20, of Dagenham, Shehzad Asif, 19, of Barking and Nikin Kamothi, 20, of Newham spoke to him for 20 minutes on everything from what “Wiki” means to how it makes money.

Students also spoke about their own social enterprise ideas, including Classnet, an online platform that offers virtual learning.

Adnan Mahmood, entrepreneurial coordinator at the college, said the students were “incredible”.

He said: “Their energy, enthusiasm and willingness to seek out and exploit every opportunity is to be commended.

“They had the opportunity to learn from the best in business, rub shoulders with leading entrepreneurs and develop their networking skills.”

Students also heard from from Betfair co-founder Ed Wray at the question and answer session on June 27.
