A former world boxing champion visited students to deliver a motivational talk.

Billy Schwer, who also won the British, Commonwealth and European belts, spoke at Barking and Dagenham College on Monday last week.

The talk was part of the college’s Inspiration 2013 event and the boxer discussed topics such as how to deal with fears and setbacks, how to aim for success and how not to lose sight of your goals.

Students also attended workshops, including a Dragons’ Den session to pitch business ideas to a panel of experts, giving them the opportunity to practise their presentation skills and gain valuable business advice.
