ESSEX resume their Twenty20 cup campaign with an encounter with champions Middlesex Panthers.
The Eagles have an excellent chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals of a competition that they reached the semi-final of last year.
They have four matches remaining, and a victory at Chelmsford tonight could see them leap from fourth to second in what is regarded as the toughest group in the competition. So tough in fact, Middlesex are already out of the competition having lost all five of their matches so far.
Essex squad for tonight: Mark Pettini - Captain, Varun Chopra, Graham Napier, Matt Walker, Grant Flower, James Foster - WK, Ryan ten Doeschate, James Middlebrook, Tim Philips, Chris Wright, David Masters, Danish Kaneria.
