DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE expect to complete the loan signing of Plymouth Argyle midfielder Yoann Folly in time for Saturday s home match with Grimsby Town.

DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE have completed the loan signing of Plymouth Argyle midfielder Yoann Folly as revealed exclusively this morning by the Post.

The 24-year-old Togo international has been out of favour at Home Park since new manager Paul Mariner took over, and has featured just seven times this season, the last a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on January 10.

With Folly wanting to move closer to London and Argyle impressed with Daggers over their recent purchase of Damien McCrory, they agreed to let the midfielder move to Victoria Road.

Folly, who started his career at St Etienne and played for the French under-21s, was signed by Southampton manager Gordon Strachan for 250,000 in 2003 where he played 12 times in the Premier League.

He has also had spells at Nottingham Forest, Preston North End and Sheffield Wednesday and the signing is something of a coup for Daggers as it is the first time he has dropped below Championship level.

For manager John Still's reaction to the deal, see today's Barking & Dagenham Post.
