A DELEGATE from South Africa visited the Barking fashion scene last month, looking for trade opportunities.

Masana Chikeka, from their Departments of Arts and Culture, was at the Fashion Enter store in Vicarage Field.

Fashion Enter is a not-for-profit organisation aimed at giving young up-and-coming designers a platform to display their work to larger retailers.

Company director, Jenny Holloway, and John Middleton, who helped fund the project, hosted the event where visitors were also welcomed to schools and colleges.

Jenny Holloway said: "We brought our visitors to our flagship store in Barking because it has been such a success.

"But we also encourage young talent in the borough, and provide workshops for people wanting to learn about dressmaking.
