A DRIVER who died after a horror smash outside the old UeL campus in Barking yesterday (Sunday) has been named as Oluwafemi Adegboye, 30, of Norfolk Court, Glandford Way, Chadwell Heath.

Mr Adegboye was thrown out of a Daewoo Leganza car, which flipped over moments after a police van tried to stop him in Longbridge Road at around 3am.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is to probe the crash, though police stressed their marked van was not in collision with the car and had its blue lights and sirens on at the time of the crash.

UeL criminology student Maleeha Khan, 23, saw the overturned car skidding outside her house, then Mr Adegboye still breathing on the floor.

She said: "He looked skinny. He looked so young. He was lying face down with a hand on his cheek and a hand behind his back.
