The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Barking and Dagenham with a ‘find the football’ contest.
Residents can win an official World Cup replica football plus mystery prizes each weekday of the tournament.
After hosts Russia play the opening game on Thursday, the council will post daily picture clues on their Facebook and Twitter pages of a replica ball hidden somewhere in the borough.
There’s only a one-hour window to find the prize, so keep your eyes peeled.
Winners can also bag an extra prize donated by Everyone Active, who manage the council-owned Abbey and Becontree Leisure Centres.
Those who arrive at the correct location within the one-hour slot, but are too late to claim their football, will receive a free day pass to use at either of the centres.
The competition, run by the council, lasts until July 15, when the ref blows the final whistle on this year’s Cup.
