A fire has broken out in a house in Rush Green.
Firefighters were called at 13.59pm to reports of a fire in a terraced house in Dagenham Road.
Four fire engines battled the bad weather to reach the scene, where they found part of the ground floor alight.
There are no reports of any injuries.
Earlier, The Post heard reports of a lightning strike in the area, although it is unknown if the two incidents are linked.
Readers have been taking to Twitter to comment on the bad weather, with users saying they’ve heard thunderstorms setting off car alarms.
