Firearm suspect arrested in Dagenham after shooting

Police arrested a man suspected of possessing a gun after a 22-year-old was shot.

The 25-year-old suspect was arrested at about 6am this morning at an address in Warley Avenue, Dagenham, on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

His arrest is in connection with a shooting in Muswell Hill, Haringey, on November 5 at 3am that left the victim seriously injured.

The wounded 22-year-old attended a north London hospital 30 minutes after the shooting with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The 25-year-old was taken to an east London police station for questioning this morning, where he remains in custody.
