BETHNAL GREEN UNITED manager Justin Gardner has challenged his side to win every one of their 12 remaining league matches to capture the Essex Senior League title, writes Matt Diner.

The Greens have had a brilliant first season in semi-professional football and have a real hope of consecutive promotions.

"I still believe we can win the league and although Burnham are clear of us I am only concentrating on our own results," said Gardner.

"If we win all our remaining matches then I believe we will win the title, but if we don't I'm sure we will end up having an excellent season anyway.

"We are in the semi-finals of two cups and I'm sure we will finish higher then fifth. For our first season that is some accomplishment."

The Greens were beaten 2-1 by Witham Town on Saturday, to end their nine-match unbeaten run.

Skipper Aynsley Gaspar netted for United, but they were beaten by a second-half James Robinson header.
