Around 20 firefighters and officers attended a fire at an industrial site in Dagenham yesterday morning.

The external walls of some storage tankers at Stolthaven chemical plant were damaged in the blaze.

Four fire engines from Dagenham, Barking and Wennington fire stations attended the incident which was on Hindmans Way.

They were called at 10.45am and the fire was under control at 12.53am.

At 11.43am yesterday morning the London Fire Brigade (@LondonFire) tweeted: “We’ve got 20 firefighters dealing with a fire at an industrial site on Hindsman Way in #Dagenham. More soon,”

An hour and a half later they followed it up with another tweet explaining: “The fire on the industrial site on Hindsman Way in #Dagenham is out.”

No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is still unknown at this stage.
