A NEWHAM martial artist won gold at the Midland Open under-20 Championship in the West Midlands.
Hayley Willis, 14, from the Stratford Judokwai won all four of her contests at the Walsall Sports Centre, to clinch the gold medal.
This was her last tournament before she flies to Madrid with the British Squad to compete in the Lisbon Sporting Club's Championships this weekend.
Willis, who was recently appointed to the British Judo Association's talent squad, will be fighting against competitors from France, Italy and Spain.
