A boxing coach on a mission to end knife crime hosted Kingsley Hall's first Box Up Crime session.

Stephen Addison, 26, brough his Barking-based club to the hall in Parsloes Avenue, Dagenham, last night in response to the death of 17-year-old Duran Kajiama Makongolo, who was stabbed in November last year.

Stephen aims to keep people aged 13 to 24 away from knife crime with the sport.

“Duran asked me to bring this to Dagenham,” he said. “This is about working with young people to help them realise their dreams.”

The free club will meet on Mondays at 7pm.
