A fire spread through a row of garages in Chadwell Heath, leaving one car completely destroyed.

Three pumps were called to the blaze at Bedwell Court, in Broomfield Road, at 7.48 last night.

The fire, which was under control after around one hour, completely destroyed one garage and partly damaged three.

A car inside the most affected garage was also destroyed.

A spokeswoman from Dagenham Fire Station said a strong wind caused the blaze to spread. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
