A quit smoking roadshow will hit Barking Town Centre next month.
Health professionals will be on hand outside the Vicarage Field mall in Ripple Road to help smokers kick the habit on October 4.
Figures show smoking is one of the biggest causes of premature death in Barking and Dagenham and lung cancer is the most prevalent type of cancer in the east London borough.
North East London NHS Foundation Trust is spearheading the roadshow as part of a mass quit attempt organised by the Department of Health called Stoptober.
