A “mental health marketplace” is being held on World Mental Health Day to help people suffering with mental illness find and hold down jobs.

The event, which is being hosted by Healthwatch Barking and Dagenham, aims to support those with mental health problems who are looking for work and help those already working cope with the stresses of their jobs.

Felicity Smith, Healthwatch project manager, said: “Healthwatch Barking and Dagenham provides a strong voice for all age groups in the community, including children, young people and families. We are keen for people to get involved, everyone is welcome, and everyone’s opinions matter.”

There will be stalls from local emploters, charities and public bodies supporting mental wellbeing.

The event takes place between 2pm and 4pm on Tuesday, October 10 at Barking Learning Centre.
