Heathway in Dagenham shut following collision between motorbike and car

The Heathway is shut northbound this morning following a collision between a motorbike and a car.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman confirmed an incident had taken place at 7.30am.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service are on scene close to the junction with Eastfield Road.

Both drivers stopped at the scene and the male motorcyclist has been taken to an east London hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.

Transport for London confirmed bus routes 173, 174 and 175 are on diversion via Rainham Road South.
