Holocaust Memorial Day marked in Dagenham

Faith leaders joined mayor Eileen Keller to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on Friday.
Speaking at the Peace and Memorial Garden in Dagenham’s Central Park, councl leader Cllr Darren Rodwell said it was vital to remember all victims of genocide. He said the memorial day, which is held on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp. “People are still being persecuted today because of their, sexual orientation, race or religion,” he said. “This means we need to remember the dangers of intolerance.”
