POLICE closed down Barking Park last Thursday after a dramatic scene unfolded where a man was taken hostage by a gang of thugs.
Four men, aged between 20 and 35 years, were arrested following what police are calling "a very serious incident".
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Kidnap Unit were called in to help diffuse the situation, which happened in the early hours of May 7 at the Longbridge Road entrance to the park.
