Fire crews tackled flames at a derelict community hall in Dagenham this morning.

Part of the first floor of the building in Tenterden Road was damanged.

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters from Dagenham, Barking, Hornchurch, Romford, Hainault and Ilford stations attended.

London Fire Brigade was called shortly after 10am, with crews taking fewer than two hours to control the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
