Firefighters spent nearly two hours trying to control a heap of burning rubbish at a waste plant last night.
Crews from Barking and Dagenham stations were called to reports of a blaze at Hunts Waste Recycling in Chequers Lane, Dagenham at 9.55pm.
The waste facility was also the scene of a huge fire last August which saw 200 firefighters and nearly 45 engines tackle a blaze in the single storey building.
Firefighters concentrated four pumps on the rubbish pile and brought the fire under control at around 23.45pm.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown but it is under investigation.
