ILFORD INDOOR BOWLS CLUB continued their 75th Anniversary celebrations against the Essex County Indoor Bowling Association.
Despite a resounding win by B Newman, G McKelvey, A Hutcherson and skip J Edwards (27-18) they came out second best by seven shots (88-81).
M Silver's rink of B Tarrell, G Weiland and Eric Walker won 25-22. J Knubley, S Simmons, T Ross and D Edwards lost to J Chapman's rink 29-12.
A Dron, K Spicer, K Bird and T Trelease were narrowly beaten 17-19 by D Griggs' team. B Newnan, G Mckelvey, A Hutcherson and J Edwards beat P Neighbour's rink 27-18.
Ilford then played a friendly against Aldersbrook and found their visitors' an easier prey than their previous opponents coming away with a resounding victory by 38 shots (96-58).
J Gray, J Knubley, T McGeowan and G Weiland overcame G Emmins's rink 32-12. J Povoas, J Chamneys, J Fennessy and D Griffiths were beaten by M Bond's team 23-12.
T Nolan, T Banford, V Festa and K Bird defeated C Bond's team 22-13 and S Simmons, J Fennessy, R Lawrence and P Riches were just beaten by L Netting's side 24-20.
