A mum-of-two is following in her family’s foosteps by launching her own dance class.

Chelsea Jordan, a world champion Irish dancer at six, will now pass on her fleet-footed skills to the next generation when she starts teaching beginners in a fortnight.

“I’m really looking forward to it, it’s my first class of my own,” explained the 24-year-old, who will join Jordan Academy, the Irish dance company run by her mum, Julie Jordan.

Chelsea, of Rose Lane, added: “Irish dancing is really fun, people tend to start from a young age and get into competitions. It keeps kids off the streets, it’s more like a family.”

Classes at St Mark’s Church in Rose Lane, Marks Gate, begin on Monday, January 23 for boys and girls aged four and above. To book your place, call Chelsea on 07399 843711.
