Jo Richardson Community School. 10 year anniversary celebration.

Jo Richardson Community School celebrated 10 years of teaching with a special fete on Friday (5).

The school opened in 2002 and became the first new secondary school in Barking and Dagenham for more than 40 years.

It is named after the former Barking and Dagenham MP between 1974 and 1994 whose legacy is carried through the school’s ethos.

To mark it’s 10th anniversary, the site in Castle Green was taken over with bouncy castles, donkey rides, a crocodile encounter, stalls and the ever-popular ‘soak the teacher’.

Headteacher Ges Smith commented: “I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved with the school over the last ten years. It has been a privilege to work with such a fantastic group of staff, students, parents and Governors.”
