A jobbing actor is hoping the force will be with him after creating an audition tape of himself dressed as a bounty hunter to impress new Star Wars director JJ Abrams.
Cole Dines, 40, of Chittys Lane, Dagenham, has created a video lasting just over three minutes of him saying a piece to camera in full bounty hunting regalia and then firing laser bolts from an enormous gun.
The tape was made after Cole encountered director JJ Abrams at the premiere of his latest Star Trek movie and asked him for a part in the new Star Wars film, which Mr Abrams will also direct, getting a thumbs up response.
“I’m happy with it and it looks exactly how I wanted it to,” said Cole who claims to be applying for the role of a 40 something military type that has been revealed in the casting breakdown for the ongoing space saga.
“The feedback I have got so far is that everyone really likes it.
“Star wars is well-known for using British actors and casting unknown actors. It’s just a case of waiting to see what happens now — at least I can say I tried.
“I think I went above and beyond the call of duty.”
