This colourful Christmas card will be dropping through letterboxes this winter after being selected as the winner of a design competition.

Diani Ulakanathan’s picture of a reindeer was chosen by Dagenham and Rainham MP Jon Cruddas out of thousands of designs sent in by pupils from across his constituency.

The lucky youngster’s design will now be printed onto more than 3,000 cards that Mr Cruddas will send out this Christmas.

On Friday, December 7, Diani will join a winner and runner-up from each participating school at the CU London campus in Dagenham for a presentation.

Mr Cruddas said: “It’s been another fantastic competition, recently it’s Brexit that’s kept me awake at night, but this week it was the Christmas card competition!

“There were thousands of cards to choose from and it was a really tough decision to choose the winner.

“Our winner has captured the spirit of Christmas wonderfully, thank you Diani!”
