FAIRBAIRN entry Jacob Basi turned on the style to move through the ABA junior novice quarter-finals at the Five Star BC, Harold Hill, on Saturday.

The under-66kg class A hope shone against Declan Harvey from Southampton to book his spot in the national semi-finals at the same venue on Sunday.

Basi's good clean boxing and wide variety of shots throughout the three rounds was excellent, and he ran out a good points winner.

His cousin Aran Basi was involved in an excellent contest in his under-63kg class B quarter-final clash against unbeaten opponent Jamie Osbourn from Harwich boxing club.

It was a cracking contest, with the Fairbairn hope trying to pressure his talented rival throughout the clash, but Osbourn won a split decision.

Ibrahim Kamaliy was a walkover winner in the under-46kg B category and will also line up for the semi-finals on Sunday.

WEST HAM BC are holding a dinner boxing show and disco on Saturday, November 21, at the Prince Regent Hotel, Manor Road, Woodford Bridge.
