A WOMAN slashed a teenage girl across the chest with a Stanley knife in a shocking daylight attack.

The 18-year-old victim was walking down Arnold Road, Dagenham, at 11.50am last Thursday (January 24).

She heard someone call her name, turned around, and was punched in the face by a woman, aged around 30.

A struggle started and the attacker slashed the teen's jacket with the knife, causing two minor cuts to her torso.

The attacker, who is roughly 5ft 8in tall, then escaped in an old-style black Ford Fiesta.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police would like to stress that this was not a random attack. The victim was known to the suspect as she called her by name."

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Detective Constable Tim White on (020) 8217 5535 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
