EAST LONDON LADIES have been crowned champions of Essex Division One with a game to spare, after beating fellow title contenders Malden & Little Baddow at Mile End Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from Eilis Quinlan and Sophie Hollington gave the Londoners a 2-0 half-time lead, but although Maldon hit back in the second period, Esme Oliver-Hobley and Quinlan delivered the title to the hosts.

EAST LONDON'S men's team kept their promotion challenge alive with victory against Havering.

Adam Willoughby and Steve Canwell netted as the teams were level at 2-2 in the first half.

East London edged ahead again in the second period, only for Havering to reply once more.

Victory was secured when Chris Jones popped up late on to seal the points.

East London's men's second team recorded an 8-0 victory at Witham to finish third in Division 5SE.

The men's third team beat Division 6SE champions Old de Ferrians 2-0 at Mile End to ensure promotion.
