DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE were left red faced again when their match with Brentford, due to be broadcast live on Sky TV last night, was called off due to a floodlight failure, writes MIKE SIMMONDS.

It is the second time this season that Daggers have been hit by such a problem as their game with Exeter on December 13 was also abandoned when the ground was plunged into darkness with the hosts leading 1-0.

With minute to go until kick-off, the lights at Victoria Road failed again, and though half of the floodlights came back on, referee Lee Probert took the decision to call the game off.

A frustrated Daggers boss, John Still, said: "We're disappointed. It was a big game because of TV and who we were playing so we're absolutely devastated.

Brentford manager, Andy Scott, added: "There was nothing they could do about it.

"It is just a big disappointment for us and for Dagenham as well."

No date has been given for the re-arranged fixture yet.
