FORMER Orient boss Martin Ling has sensationally quit Cambridge United after just nine days in charge.
Ling, who was one of the longest-serving Football League managers with the O's, walked out due to irreconcilable differences with U's chairman George Rolls.
Ling's assistant boss at O's Dean Smith, will be looking to stay in his new job a little longer. The one-time Walsall player has just been appointed the Sadlers' new head of youth development.
* ORIENT have been handed a bye in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and will go straight into the second round of the competition.
