Live streaming on web of productions at Barking’s Broadway Theatre

Embracing a fresh new approach to theatre, The Broadway is live streaming all of its performances for the coming season.
If successful, the team has plans to pioneer use of the service in hospitals, bringing the thrill of live theatre to those who can’t make it on the night.
Kick-starting with Bond Week, performances at the venue will be available to watch through the TV Room page on its website, both live and on-demand.
“The whole idea of streaming performing arts is in its infancy. We are the first theatre to offer it so extensively but we are trying to offer everything we do from now until the end of December, including the pantomime,” said Barry Burke, the theatre marketing manager.
Much of this new approach has come from interim creative director Chris Meller’s advocacy of the technology, which he has already used at the Camden Fringe.
“It puts The Broadway at the cutting edge of this development,” added Mr Burke. “In the future we will look back and have a new name for the technology revolution.”
Online performances will cost £2.99. Visit thebroadwaybarking.com for information.
